Presbyterian holds off Longwood 71-67 in Big South

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) DeSean Murray and William Truss combined for 28 points and 23 rebounds as Presbyterian went to work inside in the absence of Longwood center Lotanna Nwogbo, defeating the Lancers 71-67 on Wednesday night.

Murray hit 7 of 14 shots from the field, scoring 18 points with 12 boards, and Truss scored 16 points with 11 rebounds as the Blue Hose (6-12, 2-3 Big South) out-rebounded Longwood 46-30 and scored 36 points in the paint with Nwogbo out with an injured thumb.

Jordan Downing also scored 16 for the Blue Hose and Markus Terry added 10 - each hitting two of Presbyterian's five 3-pointers. Murray also dished eight assists.

Quincy Taylor scored 23 for Longwood, including back-to-back 3-pointers to pull the Lancers within 69-67 with 12 seconds left.

But Terry iced the win with a pair of free throws with 10 seconds to play.
