Demetrece Young scored a game-high 21 points and Pacific came out strong in each half on the way to a 65-55 victory over Fresno State Tuesday night.
Young shot 7 for 11 from the field, including 3 of 5 behind the 3-point line, and added five assists and four rebounds. Sam Willard had 17 points and 16 rebounds for the Tigers.
Pacific (7-5) scored the game's first eight points while the Bulldogs missed their first nine shots, and the Tigers led 26-20 at the half.
Fresno State (4-6) missed seven of its first eight second-half shots as the Tigers opened with a 16-2 run to build a 42-22 lead. Kevin Olekaibe led the Bulldogs with 17 points and shot 5 of 7 behind the arc.
Fresno State made just 33 percent of its shots from the field and only 44 percent (11 of 25) from the free-throw line.
