Oregon Ducks Fly Into Associated Press Top 5 After Arizona Win

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 12:35 a.m. ET

The Oregon Ducks played the biggest game of the year and dominated the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday in front of a National Television Audience.

On Monday, the latest Associated Press poll showed that the media paid attention and moved Oregon Men’s Basketball into the Top 5 of the weekly poll with just over a month to go before the NCAA Tournament seeding is announced. The Arizona Wildcats moved back to 10th with the UCLA Bruins on their heels at 11.

Oregon used a solid defensive effort and landed 16 three-pointers over Arizona who were unable to come up with answer on Saturday. Tyler Dorsey dropped six three-pointers and led with 23 points for the game. The schedule for Dana Altman and the Ducks does not get any easier the rest of the way.

UCLA will host Oregon on Thursday night for another big Pac-12 showdown in Los Angeles. The Bruins are looking for revenge following the December matchup in Eugene that saw DIllon Brooks hit a three-pointer to win the game in the final seconds to give UCLA their first conference loss of the year. The Ducks have just two home games remaining in 2016.
