STLLWATER, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton has agreed to a two-year extension.
The school announced the deal on Wednesday.
The extension to Boynton's original five-year, $6 million deal runs through the 2023-24 season. His annual salary jumps to $1.6 million with a $125,000 increase each year. The school said it will be paid for with private funds.
Fans were lukewarm when Boynton was announced as the replacement for Brad Underwood, who abruptly left for Illinois after one season. Boynton's Cowboys were picked to finish last in the Big 12, but they won 21 games, tied for sixth in the conference and won two games in the National Invitation Tournament.
The contract is pending Board of Regents approval.
