Ohio State's Jae'Sean Tate could be out for the season
Ohio State has won four in a row and has moved into sole possession of fourth place in the Big Ten standings.
However, the Buckeyes hopes of getting on to the right side of the bubble took a potentially large hit with an injury to one of their starters.
According to Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch, sophomore forward Jae'Sean Tate underwent an MRI on his right shoulder. The injury could sideline him for the remainder of the season.
He injured his right shoulder during February of his senior season at Pickerington Central to repair a torn labrum, an injury he played through for more than a year. Tate’s father, Jermaine, said his son has been playing through a shoulder injury for a while and that he was waiting to get the results of the MRI today.
Tate is third on the team in scoring at 11.7 points and second on rebounding with 6.4 boards per game.
Ohio State is currently 18-10 and 10-5 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes, who are 1-7 vs. the RPI top-100, have three remaining regular season games, all against top-10 teams. They face No. 6 Michigan State twice and host No. 8 Iowa in between meetings with the Spartans.
