Erik Kangas scored 21 points as Oakland University beat South Dakota State 74-56 Monday in the semifinals of the Summit League tournament. The Golden Grizzlies (22-11) will take on top-seed and regular season champion North Dakota State in Tuesday's championship game. The winner gets an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. Kangas was 9-for-14 from the field. Oakland shot 53 percent while holding the Jackrabbits (13-20) to just 42 percent. Oakland led 38-18 at the half. Johnathon Jones had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies. SDSU struggled from the field from the start, shooting just 30 percent in the first half. Anthony Cordova was the lone bright spot on offense, hitting 9 of 15 shots and finishing with 22 points. He was the only Jackrabbit player in double figures. Oakland and North Dakota State split the season series.
