William Mosley scored a career-high 20 points and Northwestern State defeated Nicholls State 92-61 on Wednesday night.

The Demons (16-14, 8-7 Southland Conference) shot 63.6 percent (35 of 55) from the field in their biggest winning margin in a Southland Conference game since joining the league in 1987.

Northwestern State outscored the Colonels 42-22 in the paint and made 11 of 18 from long range.

Louis Ellis scored 17 points, going 4 of 7 from 3-point range for the Demons, and Shamir Davis chipped in 12 points.

Northwestern State, which snapped a five-game losing streak in conference play, took a 43-24 halftime lead before shooting 70.4 percent in the final 20 minutes (19 of 27).

Nicholls State (10-18, 6-9) was led by Trevon Lewis with 16 points and Shane Rillieux with 10.
