Northern Colorado tops Portland State 90-85

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) Cameron Michael scored a career-high 22 points, Tevin Svihovec and Jordan Wilson scored 16 apiece, and Northern Colorado held off Portland State 90-85 on Thursday night.

Dominique Lee had 12 and Corey Spence 10 for the Bears (7-7, 2-1 Big Sky), who outscored the Vikings in the paint 36-28 and scored 22 points off of 14 turnovers.

Portland State led 13-8 on a 3-pointer by DaShaun Wiggins, but Svihovec hit a 3 with 6 seconds left and the Bears led 40-35 at halftime.

The Vikings tied it at 48 early in the second half on a layup by Gary Winston, trailed, then took a 68-62 lead on a 3 by Tiegbe Bamba. Michael scored the go-ahead jumper to put the Bears ahead 69-68, then Wilson hit a pair of free throws for an 88-80 lead with 13 seconds left.

Winston and Wiggins had 19 apiece for Portland State (7-6, 1-2), Bamba had 15 and Braxton Tucker 10.
