Northern Colorado defeats Montana State 83-73

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) Tevin Svihovec had 17 points and seven assists, while Derrick Barden added 14 points with 12 rebounds as Northern Colorado defeated Montana State 83-73 Saturday night.

The Bears (15-8, 9-5 Big Sky) shot 58.8 percent from the field and hit 10 of 18 3-pointers. Tate Unruh, Tim Huskisson and Jordan Wilson each chipped in 13 points for UNC.

Montana State (12-13, 7-7) was also efficient from the field, shooting 52.1 percent, but grabbed just 19 boards to UNC's 33. Flavien Davis scored 17 points, Marcus Colbert had 14 and Antonio Biglow contributed 13.

The Bobcats led 26-14 at the midway mark in the first half, but UNC closed the half on a 22-9 run. Huskisson had two jumpers and a tip-in, and Unruh added two free throws and a 3-pointer to spark a 13-3 surge, putting UNC up by 11 with 2:01 left in the second half.
