Tristan Thompson scored 23 points, Josh White added 21 and North Texas erased a 14-point deficit in the second half in an 81-77 victory against Texas State on Saturday.
The Mean Green (4-1) outscored Texas State 28-12 in the final 5:12.
Ryan White scored 16 points and Tony Bishop and John Bowman 12 apiece for the Bobcats (2-3).
Thompson and White buried two 3-pointers each in just over a minute as North Texas turned a 67-56 deficit into a lead it never relinquished. During the second half, the Mean Green shot 69.6 percent (16 for 23) from the floor and held Texas State without a field goal for a late 4 1/2-minute stretch.
White helped cement the win by making all six of his free-throw attempts in the last 1:41.
