North Florida tops Kennesaw State 87-77

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) Travis Wallace scored 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as North Florida took down Kennesaw State 87-77 Saturday.

North Florida (16-15, 10-8 Atlantic Sun Conference) jumped to a 41-33 halftime lead, behind 11 first-half points from Beau Beech and 10 from Wallace.

North Florida led by double digits for most of the second half. Kennesaw State (6-25, 3-15) was unable to cut the deficit to fewer than six points after halftime.

The Ospreys made 31 of 36 free-throw attempts, led by Dallas Moore who made 13 of 14. Moore scored 17 for North Florida while Beech and Chris Davenport finished with 13 apiece.

Delbert Love led Kennesaw State with 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting. Nate Rucker added 13 and Bernard Morena had 10.

North Florida enters the conference tournament as the No. 6 seed, and will play at No. 3 USC Upstate Tuesday.
