JaMychal Green scored 21 points to lead No. 19 Alabama to a 67-60 victory over Alabama-Huntsville in an exhibition game Monday night.

Tony Mitchell added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Crimson Tide. Trevor Releford had 12 points.

Jaime Smith scored 27 points for Alabama-Huntsville.

Alabama-Huntsville, ranked No. 2 in the NABC Division II Coaches Preseason Poll after advancing to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division II tournament last season, played an exhibition at Alabama last year and took the Crimson Tide to double overtime before falling 73-68. This time, Alabama led from start to finish.

Triggered by consecutive 3-pointers from freshman Rodney Cooper, Alabama jumped out to a 12-3 lead at the 17:22 mark. The Crimson Tide led by as many as 14 points, 28-14, when Releford hit a 3-pointer. The score at halftime was 34-26.

Alabama's biggest lead in the second half was 10 points, when Cooper quickly scored to make it 36-26, and then when Green hit a 3-pointer to make it 46-36 at the 14:02 mark.

The Chargers kept chipping away, however. Smith got fouled on back-to-back 3-point attempts and sank all six free throws to pull Alabama-Huntsville to 63-60 with 1:09 to go. Releford then made a field goal and Mitchell scored on a fast-break dunk as time was running out to close out the scoring.

Alabama opens its regular season Friday at home against North Florida.
