No. 12 Notre Dame without Zach Auguste at Georgia Tech
Twelfth-ranked Notre Dame will be without second-leading scorer Zach Auguste when the Fighting Irish play at Georgia Tech.
Notre Dame spokeswoman Bernie Cafarelli said Auguste did not travel with the team but would not say why. She said coach Mike Brey would talk about Auguste's situation after the game Wednesday night.
Auguste has been the best big man for Notre Dame (15-2, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), averaging 14.3 points and 6.4 rebounds. He ranks fourth nationally in field-goal percentage at 65.3 percent, but his streak of scoring in double figures ended at eight games when he was held to four points in a loss to Virginia on Saturday.
No other Irish big men are averaging more than three points or three rebounds a game.
