LaceDarius Dunn hit a 3-pointer on the opening shot of the game, and 11th-ranked Baylor was off and running to another lopsided victory over a Southwestern Athletic Conference team.
Baylor never trailed after the opening shot by Dunn, who had another 20-point game in his second game back, as the Bears beat Prairie View 90-45 on Monday night.
Dunn had 20 points while playing only 23 minutes, and 6-foot-11 freshman sensation Perry Jones had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Bears (5-0).
''We're running around and pointing at where Dunn's at, and you forget you've got (Jones) running up under the basket,'' Prairie View coach Byron Rimm said. ''It's just one of those things where you've got to pick your poison.''
Baylor improved to 38-0 against Southwestern Athletic Conference teams, 3-0 this season with another against Texas Southern on Jan. 2. The Bears have won 16 of those games by at least 30 points.
A week after making his season debut for Baylor with 24 points and seven 3-pointers against Lipscomb, Dunn was 7-of-13 shooting with 3-pointers against Prairie View. The first by the senior guard put the Bears ahead to stay.
Dunn, the leading scorer last season when Baylor made it to an NCAA regional final and had a school-record 28 wins, was suspended for the first three games of the season after a domestic dispute charge earlier this fall.
''It just feels good to be out there with the guys and doing what I love doing, and that's playing basketball,'' Dunn said. ''I think I did a great job of coming out and not underestimating the team because they're a smaller team, but just coming out and playing our ball and getting the win.''
Quincy Acy added 13 points for Baylor and Nolan Dennis had 10.
Trant Simpson had 10 points and was the only player in double figures for Prairie View (1-7), which shot only 25 percent (15 of 59) and made only 3-of-17 3-pointers. Simpson got to double digits with a pair of 3-pointers in the closing minutes.
''I thought it was our best defensive effort of the season, holding them to 25 percent,'' coach Scott Drew said. ''I thought that really set the tone for things. ... Lot of positives.''
The Bears will get a much tougher challenge Thursday night when they play Arizona State at home as part of the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series.
Baylor led 47-15 at halftime after Dunn, who had 15 points and four steals by then, was part of two big runs.
Dunn sparked a 13-0 run with a free throw and a steal off a breakaway layup before Dennis scored six consecutive points to extend Baylor's lead to 26-7 midway through the first half.
After scoring two more buckets off his own steals, including a 3-pointer from the left wing, Dunn slipped inside for a tip-in that sparked a half-ending 10-0 run.
Baylor had a week between games but finished with only five turnovers - just one before halftime. The Bears were averaging almost 23 turnovers a game.
''We worked on offense during the Thanksgiving break, and I think everybody's getting a little more comfortable with the plays and the offense and playing with each other,'' Drew said. ''I think they did a great job of concentrating and making the right plays and right passes.''
Meanwhile, the Bears scored 26 points off 19 Prairie View turnovers and outscored the Panthers 18-0 in fastbreak points.
''I've been to a couple NBA practices this year, and I haven't even seen a team that big in the NBA,'' said Rimm, whose starting five gave up five inches per man against the Bears and were outscored 54-18 in the paint. ''They did a great job of stretching that defense and our guys just couldn't get in their gaps. And if we did get in the gaps, we couldn't see over them with our guys who are 5-foot-7, 5-8.''
