Niagara 77, St. Bonaventure 71
Demetrius Williamson scored 22 points, including 10 in the final 5:44, as Niagara rallied past St. Bonaventure 77-71 on Tuesday night after trailing 41-25 at halftime.
Williamson's 3-pointer put the Purple Eagles (8-4) ahead to stay, 68-65, with 3:31 remaining. He added two free throws for a 70-65 lead at the 3:13 mark.
After Andrew Nicholson's dunk drew the Bonnies (6-5) within 70-67 with 2:14 left, Williamson tipped in Kashief Edwards' missed layup with 53 seconds left to make it 72-67.
Another dunk by Nicholson, who led St. Bonaventure with 24 points, made it 72-69 with 44 seconds remaining, but Niagara made 5 of 6 free throws the rest of the way.
Nicholson scored 10 points in the game's opening 5:29, when St. Bonaventure took an 18-5 lead.
Niagara shot 56.7 percent (17-for-30) in the second half after making just 30 percent (9-for-30) in the first half.
