New Hampshire knocks off Hartford 76-70 in OT

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Matt Miller nailed a 3-pointer and Jaleen Smith made four straight free throws in the final nine seconds of overtime to secure New Hampshire's 76-70 victory over Hartford on Tuesday night.

Smith made two free throws with 16 seconds left in regulation to give New Hampshire a 61-58 lead. Wes Cole hit a step-back 3-pointer with 7.5 seconds left, sending the game into overtime.

Tanner Leissner and Miller had 16 points apiece to lead New Hampshire (15-10, 8-4 America East Conference). Smith grabbed 10 rebounds with 11 points.

Hartford started the second half with a 12-7 run to lead 41-37. The Hawks stayed out front until Leissner drove for a layup and Miller nailed a 3-pointer with 5:19 left for a 53-49 advantage.

Yolonzo Moore II was 4 of 5 from beyond the arc to total 18 points for Hartford (12-12, 5-6), which has lost five of the last six games.
