SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) C.J. Neumann made his first trip to the free-throw line with one second remaining in front of a rowdy, near-sellout crowd and made the second of two foul shots as Wofford held off a late charge by Furman to defeat the Paladins 77-73 Saturday night.

The Terriers built the game's largest lead, 69-61, when Eric Garcia drained a 3-pointer with 2:22 remaining only to be outscored 12-8 down the stretch by Furman, which had clipped Wofford 63-62 on Jan. 23 with a tip-in as time expired.

Spencer Collins led Wofford (15-14, 11-5 Southern) with 21 points, Justin Gordon added 16 and freshman Fletcher Magee 15.

Stephen Croone scored 19 and Devin Sibley 18 to lead Furman (17-12, 11-5). The teams share third place in the SoCon, but seek another win to avoid Chattanooga until the tournament finals.
