NC Central gets by Maryland Eastern Shore 66-62

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) Jeremy Ingram had 14 points as North Carolina Central came back to take a 66-62 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore Monday night.

NC Central, which has now won eight straight games, held a slim lead most of the second half and was ahead 60-56 when KyRee Jones made a 3-pointer and Francis Ezeiru made two free throws to give UMES a 61-60 lead with 2:08 remaining. Emanuel Chapman answered with two free throws and Karamo Jawara made a layup to give NCCU a 64-61 advantage with 18 seconds left.

Alfonzo Houston and Jordan Parks had 11 points apiece for NCCU (16-5, 7-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Hakeem Baxter led UMES with 17 points, Troy Snyder added 12 with eight rebounds and Ezeiru had 11 points for UMES (3-16, 1-6).

NCCU held a 41-39 halftime advantage.
