Freddy Coleman scored 19 points and three teammates reached double figures as North Dakota State beat UC Davis 76-71 Thursday night.
Coleman sank three of the Bison's five 3-pointers. North Dakota State (7-3) also got 16 points and five assists from Eric Carlson, 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds from Marshall Bjorklund and 13 points from Michael Tveidt.
Josh Ritchart hit three 3-pointers among his team-leading 17 points for the Aggies (4-7). Mark Payne scored 16, and Ryan Sypkens delivered six assists.
UC Davis led 38-37 at intermission, but the Bison used a 12-2 run to start the second half and led 49-40 with 17:08 left. The Aggies later surged ahead 56-55 with 10:19 left. But Carlson scored 14 seconds later to put the Bison back on top, and they never trailed again, though the score was tied three more times.
North Dakota State held a 38-27 rebounding edge.
