N. Colorado pulls away for 97-73 win over N. New Mexico

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) DJ Miles scored 20 points to lead five Northern Colorado players in double figures Saturday for a 97-73 win over NAIA-member Northern New Mexico.

Ibrahim Sylla added 17 points for Northern Colorado (3-5), Jordan Davis had 15 points and nine assists, while Chaz Glotta and Kyle Carey had 12 points apiece. The Bears shot 54.7 percent from the field and had a 36-27 rebounding advantage.

Northern New Mexico stayed close through much of the first half, which featured 12 lead changes before Miles dropped in a layup with 3:26 left to spark a 12-2 run to make it 48-38 and give Northern Colorado the lead for good.

Mikaere Watene led Northern New Mexico with 24 points on 10-for-11 shooting, including 4 of 4 from long range. Adrian Infante added 17 points and Bryce Simmons had 13 for the Eagles, which shot 51 percent from the field.

Northern Colorado had just five turnovers.
