Landon Clement scored 24 points and Justin Leemow had 19 points and 10 assists as North Carolina Central defeated Allen 96-81 on Saturday.
The Eagles (2-3) enjoyed a torrid shooting afternoon from the field, making 35 of 56 (62.5 percent), including an even-hotter 11 of 17 (64.7 percent) from 3-point range. C.J. Wilkerson added 18 points for North Carolina Central and Nick Chasten contributed 14.
Allen was nowhere near as hot, making only 39.1 percent from the field (25 of 64). Richard Johnson and Jeremy Crawford, who had 23 and 21 points, respectively, were the leading scorers for the Fighting Yellow Jackets.
Allen was able to prevent a blowout with its advantage at the free-throw line. The Fighting Yellow Jackets got nine extra points from the line, making 24 of 33 tries, while the Eagles made 15 of 20.
