MVSU knocks off Prairie View A&M 75-69

GREENWOOD, Miss. (AP) James Currington scored a career-high 20 points to help Mississippi Valley State end a five game losing streak, as the Delta Devils beat Prairie View A&M 75-69 on Monday night.

Currington hit 8 of 13 field goal attempts and had eight rebounds for MVSU (9-19, 5-10 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Anthony McDonald knocked down 3 of 7 3-point attempts, totaling 15 points and Jeffrey Simmons added 12.

The game was tied at 36 at the half. MVSU quickly took a 47-38 lead and pushed it to 67-54 with 3:33 remaining. The Panthers did have a late run to cut it to six but it was too late.

MVSU outrebounded Prairie View 47-37.

Montrael Scott had 14 points and Demondre Chapman and Louis Munks had 10 apiece for Prairie View (8-18, 6-8).
