MVSU gets past Prairie View 81-72

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) Anthony McDonald capped a second half comeback with a game-tying 3-pointer and then sank the go-ahead layup as Mississippi Valley State slipped past Prairie View A&M 81-72 on Monday night.

DeAngelo Priar pumped in a career-high 20 points, hitting all four of his shots from 3-point range, and Jordan Washington had 15 points for Mississippi Valley State (6-14, 2-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference). McDonald finished the night with 14 points and James Currington added 13.

Trailing 43-29 at the break, the Delta Devils steadily chipped away in the second half and tied the game at 65 on McDonald's 3-pointer with 6:24 to go. The lead see-sawed over the next 3 minutes before McDonald put Mississippi Valley State ahead for good on a layup that made it 72-71 and the Delta Devils kept pulling away.

Prairie View (6-13, 4-3) got 20 points from John Brisco and 19 from Montrael Scott.
