The Murray State Racers defeated Tennessee-Temple 83-41 on Thursday night, marking their best start since the beginning of the 2003 season.
Isaiah Canaan scored 16 points to help the Racers (3-0) win their 13th straight nonconference home game and ninth overall.
After leading 19-17 in the first 10 minutes of the half, the Racers locked down on the Crusaders and finished the half holding them to seven points on only five more shot attempts.
Canaan hit one of his three 3-pointers on the night at the four minute mark to give Murray State a 38-28 lead. The Racers had a 46-24 advantage at the half.
Donte Poole scored 15 points, Jewuan Long added 11 while Zay Jackson and Ed Daniel both recorded 12 points for Murray State.
John Reik, the only Tennessee-Temple (3-4) player to score more than six points, tallied 17 points and 14 rebounds.
