Isaiah Canaan scored 13 points and Murray State defeated Tennessee Tech 55-44 on Thursday night to win its seventh straight game and sweep the season series.

The Racers (19-6, 11-3 Ohio Valley Conference) won 92-85 on Jan. 15, the 177 points marking the highest-scoring game of their season.

The Golden Eagles' 44 points was their lowest output of the season.

Murray State started fast, taking an 18-5 lead with 12:58 left in the first half.

Tennessee Tech (13-11, 9-6) closed to 24-18 at halftime despite shooting only 21.7 percent from the field (5 of 23).

A layup by Alfred Jones pulled the Golden Eagles to 26-24 with 17:27 to go, but the Racers used a 7-0 run to pull away.

Jeffery McClain and B.J. Jenkins added 10 points apiece for Murray State, which leads the OVC standings by one game over Morehead State.

Jud Dillard scored 18 to lead Tennessee Tech.
