Mizzou practices in airport hangar during diverted landing
What to do when stuck in Lubbock, Texas?
Missouri men's basketball coach Kim Anderson knew how to spend the time.
On the way to Tucson, Ariz., for Sunday's tilt at 13th-ranked Arizona, the Tigers had to make an unplanned landing in the West Texas town for a few hours Saturday night because their plane experienced mechanical issues.
According to The Associated Press, Anderson was worried the delay would throw off the team's scheduled itinerary and would miss its morning's walkthrough, so he improvised.
The Tigers held practice in a hangar, marking off a court and using a tied-together towel as a makeshift ball.
Reportedly nine hours later, Mizzou eventually was back in the air. But the Tigers were no match for the Wildcats by the 5:10 p.m. PT start, losing 88-52.
