Kyle Weems scored 12 points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer, to lift Missouri State to a 58-57 victory over Northern Iowa on Wednesday night.

Jermaine Mallett led the Bears (9-3, 1-0 Missouri Valley) with 14 points and Adam Leonard had 11.

Kwadzo Ahelegbe scored 25 points to lead the Panthers (9-4, 0-1), who had won 21 straight at home and four in a row against Missouri State. Johnny Moran added 15 points.

After Northern Iowa took a six-point lead with 3:38 remaining, Missouri State rallied to tied it at 52 on Adam Leonard's 3-pointer with 1:41 to play.

Ahelegbe followed with two free throws, but Will Creekmore gave the Bears a one-point advantage when he converted a three-point play with 27 seconds left.

Johnny Morgan then hit a 3 for the Panthers with 12 seconds remaining before Weems won it.
