Minnie with 28 points, Eastern Michigan beats Boston 80-62

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Elijah Minnie scored 28 points with four rebounds, four assists and three steals and Eastern Michigan beat Boston 80-62 on Saturday.

Minnie was 10 of 17 from the field including five from distance for the Eagles (4-1). Paul Jackson added 15 points and four assists and James Thompson IV scored 14 points and led the team with 14 rebounds.

The Eagles trailed through much of the first half but were able to inch ahead late on back-to-back jumpers by Minnie and Kevin McAdoo to take a 32-26 lead at the break.

A Jackson 3-pointer early in the second half stretched it to 53-42 with 12:13 to play. Minnie contributed three 3-pointers and Thompson dunked as part of a 14-0 run that boosted the Eagles to a 71-51 lead with 5:08 remaining and they cruised from there.

Max Mahoney scored 18 points with four rebounds for the Terriers (3-2).
