Milwaukee hits 13 3-pointers to beat Oakland 84-67

MILWAUKEE (AP) Steve McWhorter scored 17 points with nine assists and four steals, and J.R. Lyle added 15 points as Milwaukee drained a season-high 13 3-point shots to wallop Oakland 84-67 on Tuesday night.

Matt Tiby and Justin Jordan each hit three 3-pointers for Milwaukee (10-15, 5-6 Horizon League), finishing with 11 and 9 points, respectively. Akeem Springs added 13 points with 10 rebounds.

Jordan, a nephew of NBA great Michael Jordan, drained his 3-pointers early, helping Milwaukee stake a 14-6 lead.

In the final two minutes before halftime, Nick Daniels and Max Hooper hit three straight treys as Oakland (12-14, 7-4) closed to 31-27. Hooper, who finished with 15 points on five 3-pointers, added another trey to boost the Golden Grizzlies into a 32-31 lead just after halftime.

McWhorter hit a layup to give Milwaukee the lead for good, 38-36 with 16:55 left.

Khalil Felder added 14 points with nine assists for Oakland.
