Miles, Harper lift Lamar past C. Arkansas 92-78

Anthony Miles and Charlie Harper scored 22 points each as Lamar defeated Central Arkansas 92-78 Saturday and swept the season series with the Bears.

Harper also had 14 rebounds for the Cardinals (12-7, 3-2 Southland), who snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 10-0 all-time against Central Arkansas. Lamar won the previous meeting between the two schools 103-67 on Jan. 7.

Robert Crawford had 18 points, LaQuentin Miles 16 and Mark Rutledge 10 for Central Arkansas (7-10, 2-3).

Lamar, which shot 58 percent from the field, also got 16 points from Mike James and 12 from Brandon Davis.

The Cardinals trailed by as many as eight in the first half before rallying for a 30-29 halftime lead, then used a 7-0 run in the second half to go on top 56-48 with 12:20 remaining. The lead reached double digits for good with a 15-6 run that put the Cardinals ahead 75-59 with 5:10 left.
