CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) Miami Hurricanes guard Ja'Quan Newton has been suspended for the final three games of the regular season for a violation of team rules.

The suspension was announced shortly before the tipoff of Saturday's game between the 12th-ranked Hurricanes and No. 11 Louisville. Newton will also miss games next week against Notre Dame and Virginia Tech.

Newton has been one of the best sixth men in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season. He started only one game but ranks fourth on the Hurricanes with a scoring average of 10.9 points.
