Tyler Dierkers scored 13 points to lead all scorers and Miami University's defense limited Western Michigan to just 27 percent shooting from the field in a 64-46 victory on Saturday night. Michael Bramos added 12 points and Antonio Ballard had 11 for Miami (Ohio) (15-8, 8-3 Mid-American Conference). Andre Ricks led Western (8-16, 5-6) with nine points, with three teammates each scoring eight. With each team missing around 70 percent of its shots, the RedHawks took a 23-22 halftime lead. Nick Winbush hit a 3-pointer, Dierkers made a free throw and Eric Pollitz added two foul shots to push the lead to 10 points midway through the second half and the RedHawks pulled away from there. The Broncos managed only 12 field goals in 45 attempts, yet hit 6-of-13 3-point field goals - leaving them 6 for 32 inside the arc (19 percent).
