Mercer battles past George Mason 69-60

MACON, Ga. (AP) Stephon Jelks scored 16 points and Phillip Leonard and Demetre Rivers added 10 each as Mercer came on in the final minute to defeat George Mason 69-60 on Monday night.
Jestin Lewis hit a key 3-pointer on a pass from Desmond Ringer to break a 58-all tie and the Bears sank 8 of 8 foul shots in the last 1:04. Jelks sank 6 of 6 and Lewis added 2.
Mercer (2-0) made 19 of 21 free throws in the game and shot 41 percent (23-56) from the field. The score was tied five times and the lead changed hands nine times in the contest.
Otis Livingston led George Mason (0-2) with 17 points and five assists. Marko Gujanicic scored 14 points with nine rebounds and Jaire Grayer added 10 points.
