McCrea leads Buffalo past Cent Michigan 79-70

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) Javon McCrea pumped in 25 points and grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds as Buffalo posted a 79-70 win over Central Michigan Saturday night.

The Bulls completed their season series with the Mid-America Conference West Division and now concentrate on the East Division, where they are one game back of Akron in the loss column and face Miami (Ohio) Wednesday.

Shannon Evans scored 19 points and Jarod Oldham and Joshua Freelove added 11 and 10, respectively, for Buffalo (13-7, 7-4 MAC). The Bulls were 29 of 56 from the field (51.8 percent), 7 of 18 from long range and held a 40-26 advantage on the boards.

Central Michigan (8-14, 1-9) won its first conference game Wednesday night, knocking off Kent State in overtime.

Blake Hibbitts and Chris Fowler each scored 17 points to lead the Chippewas, with Austin Stewart adding another 15 points. Central Michigan shot 24 of 58 (41.4 percent).
