McBroom, Jois lead E. Washington past Portland St. 112-83
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Austin McBroom made 6 of 10 from 3-point range and finished with 25 points, and Venky Jois scored 23 with nine rebounds to help Eastern Washington beat Portland State 112-83 Thursday night.
Julian Harrell and Felix Von Hofe had 16 points apiece for the Eagles (10-10, 4-4 Big Sky) and Sir Washington scored 10. Bogdan Bliznyuk finished with 11 points - on 5-of-7 shooting - seven rebounds, six assists, five steals and four blocked shots.
EWU shot 65.5 percent (19 of 29) from the field, including 10 of 14 from 3-point range, in the first half and led 56-32 at the break. Eight Eastern Washington players hit a least one 3-pointer and the Eagles made a school-record 20 3s on 31 attempts.
Cameron Forte scored a career-high 37 points with 13 rebounds for Portland State (7-11, 3-4). Colin Spickerman scored 10 on 5-of-5 shooting.
