Massachusetts 66, Quinnipiac 64
Anthony Gurley's last-second shot was counted because of goal tending and Massachusetts remained undefeated by edging Quinnipiac 66-64 on Wednesday night.
UMass is 7-0 for the first time since it went 26-0 to start the 1995-96 season, when the Minutemen advanced to the Final Four.
The Minutemen held for the last shot and Gurley took a pass from Gary Correia. Quinnipiac's Jamee Jackson touched the ball above the rim and goal tending was called, giving UMass the victory.
Javorn Farrell scored 25 points and Gurley finished with 19 for the Minutemen.
The Minutemen led by 19 just before halftime, but the Bobcats (4-2) rallied to tie the score at 59 on Dominique Langston's dunk with 2:13 remaining. UMass took a 64-61 lead, but Quinnipiac's Deontay Twyman tied it with a 3-pointer with 13 seconds to play.
Justin Rutty had 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Bobcats.
