Rhamel Brown and George Beamon scored 14 points apiece as Manhattan defeated Hofstra 68-59 Saturday for its fourth consecutive victory.

The Jaspers (7-4) exceeded their win total of last season, when they were 6-25.

Brown, a sophomore, also grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked six shots, giving him 100 blocks in his career and breaking a tie for fourth on Manhattan's career list.

A 20-4 run by Manhattan, ending with seven points by Beamon, made it 23-6 with 9:05 remaining in the first half. The Jaspers shot 44.4 percent (12 of 27) in the half to 28.6 percent (8 of 28) for the Pride (3-7).

Hofstra, which has lost four straight, got within seven, 44-37, with 10:27 left in the game. But Manhattan scored the next 12 points to regain control, 52-37.

Mike Moore scored 20 points and Nathaniel Lester 11 to lead the Pride.
