Gerald McLemore scored 16 points as Maine ended its five-game losing streak with a 71-58 victory over New Hampshire on Wednesday night.

McLemore got 13 of his points in the second half, when the Black Bears (12-15, 6-9 America East Conference) pulled away after leading 29-25 at halftime. The senior guard hit two 3-pointers and Raheem Singleton made one during a span of 1:22 that gave Maine a 63-48 lead with 4:42 remaining.

New Hampshire (12-15, 6-9) had its four-game winning streak snapped. Maine has won four straight against the Wildcats, including an 80-69 decision on Jan. 25.

Alasdair Fraser had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Maine, which also got 13 points from Justin Edwards and 12 from Singleton.

Alvin Abreu scored 15 points to lead New Hampshire. Brian Benson added 14 points for the Wildcats, and Chandler Rhoads and Ferg Myrick scored 13 apiece.
