Lynn, Coleman spark NJIT past Kennesaw State 78-59
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Damon Lynn led four players into double-figure scoring as NJIT powered past Kennesaw State 78-59 on Saturday, beating the Owls for the second time in a week.
For the first time, NJIT has won three Atlantic Sun Conference games in a row. Lynn scored 19 points, Tim Coleman 17, Ky Howard 14 and Chris Jenkins 12 on four 3-pointers as NJIT (14-11, 5-4) broke open a 41-35 halftime lead, shooting 55 percent for the game (29-53).
Coleman added 10 rebounds with three steals. He, Lynn, Howard and Emmanuel Tselentakis each had four of the Highlanders' 19 assists.
Yonel Browl led Kennesaw State (7-18, 3-6) with 19 points and Kendrick Ray added 12. The Owls shot 22-for-58 from the field (38 percent).
Howard and Lynn scored seven unanswered points, including a 3 by Lynn, as NJIT surged into an 18-14 lead that it never surrendered.
