LSU point guard Bo Spencer is academically ineligible for the fall semester.
Coach Trent Johnson announced Friday that the Tigers will be without their leading returning scorer and lone returning senior when the season starts.
Spencer, a Baton Rouge native, averaged 14.5 points last season. He will have to pass courses in the fall to become eligible for the spring semester.
Johnson says the academic staff will continue to help Spencer regain his eligibility.

Spencer averaged 11.4 points in 2008-09 as LSU won the Southeastern Conference championship and made the NCAA tournament. He shot just 33.3 percent from the field as the Tigers (12-20, 2-14) went from first to worst in the SEC last season.
