Loyola Marymount nails treys, beats Cal St.-Fullerton 82-70

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) Steven Haney drilled 7 of 12 from long range for 26 points to help lead Loyola Marymount to an 82-70 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Saturday night.

Loyola Marymount (6-4) made 10 of 19 from beyond the arc and hit 32 of 59 (54.2%) field goal attempts.

Haney was 9 of 15 from the floor. Marin Mornar made 8 of 10 field goals for 20 points, Brandon Brown added 14 and Petr Herman chipped in 12.

Loyola Marymount had a 35-31 advantage at the break and pushed that to 60-43 at the 10:58 mark. Malcolm Brooks nailed two straight treys and Khalil Ahmad hit a jumper to close to 64-51. Haney answered with a 3-pointer and the Lions roared to the finish.

Tre Coggins had 18 points and Lanerryl Johnson added 16 as Cal State Fullerton (6-3) dropped its second in a row after winning six straight.
