Vernon Teel had 20 points and 11 rebounds, one of a trio of Loyola Marymount players with double-doubles, and the Lions defeated Long Beach State 80-77 in overtime Saturday night.

Drew Viney had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Ashley Hamilton had 13 points and 11 boards for Loyola Marymount (3-4).

Long Beach State (3-3) rallied from a 13-point deficit with 6:40 to go to force the extra period. T.J. Robinson also had a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds for the 49ers. Casper Ware led all scorers with 18 points.

Anthony Ireland added 12 points for the Lions and reserve Tim Diederichs had 11 for the Lions.
