LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) Louisville has scheduled a press conference ''to deliver an important message to the university community.''

The subject of the unexpected availability is unclear, though university President James Ramsey, athletic director Tom Jurich and men's basketball coach Rick Pitino are expected to attend.

The trio could provide an update on investigations into a sex scandal still looming over the basketball program in which an escort alleged that a former staffer paid her and other dancers to strip and have sex with recruits and players.

The Cardinals (18-4, 7-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) are currently No. 19 in the Top 25 and scheduled to play Boston College on Thursday. They would be a lock for an NCAA Tournament berth if they don't win the league title.
