Former Louisville basketball player Gorgui Dieng had his best game of the NBA preseason as the Timberwolves beat the Grizzlies.

It’s been amazing to see so many former Louisville basketball players finding their stride in professional basketball lately. In 23 minutes for the Timberwolves, Dieng was able to earn himself a double-double. Not only was he Minnesota’s leading rebounder, but he also led the team in blocks with four.

Here is Dieng’s stat-line for Minnesota’s 101-94 win over the Memphis Grizzlies:

Gorgui Dieng has been getting better every game this preseason for Minnesota. That should give him a ton of confidence heading into an important season for the Timberwolves. If he and former Kentucky Wildcats, Karl Anthony-Towns can continue to dominate the glass, then the T’Wolves could be looking at making at run to the NBA playoffs.

While it has been over a decade since they have made the playoffs, this is the best chance that Minnesota has had in some while.

With their win over the Grizzlies the Timberwolves have improved their record to 4-2 on the preseason. They will have one more preseason game left before opening at Memphis on October 26th.
