Raheem Appleby launched a long 3-pointer that beat the buzzer Tuesday night to give Louisiana Tech a dramatic 94-93 double-overtime victory over Northwestern State.

The freshman guard ran down a long rebound near midcourt after another missed foul shot by Northwestern State (4-5). His leaning 24-footer just before the buzzer sounded banked in and broke the Demons' hearts, and it was upheld after officials reviewed the play.

The Demons made just 6 of 13 free throws in the two overtimes. Their last two misses, by James Hulbin, came with 13.5 seconds left and Northwestern State leading 93-91. The Bulldogs (4-4) then missed two jumpers but Appleby grabbed the second rebound and beat the clock.

Coradarius Johnson led Louisiana Tech with 23 points. Its bench outscored the Demons' 35-16.
