Olu Ashaolu scored 24 points and Louisiana Tech defeated Louisiana-Monroe 67-58 on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs (7-2) led 37-25 at halftime behind 54.5 percent shooting (12 of 22) and 12 points off turnovers in the first half. The Warhawks (2-7) shot just 35.8 percent from the field (11 of 32) before halftime, including just 1 of 10 from 3-point range.

Louisiana-Monroe pulled within six, 52-46, on Lawrence Gilbert's free throws with 9:13 left. But the Bulldogs went on a 15-7 run to make it 67-53 on two free throws by Ashaolu with 2:21 to play, extending Louisiana Tech's losing streak to four games.

Brandon Gibson, who has been averaging 17.4 points per game since moving to shooting guard after the season opener, added 15 points for the Bulldogs.

Hugh Mingo and Fred Brown paced the Warhawks with 18 points each and Gilbert chipped in 10 points.
