Louisiana Tech 56, Northeastern 53
Raheem Appleby scored a game-high 22 points and Louisiana Tech went on a feverish 5-1 run in the game's final 50 seconds to defeat Northeastern 56-53 on Tuesday night.
Brandon Gibson was the only other Louisiana Tech (7-5) player in double figures, scoring 14 points, and was one of three different Bulldogs to score in the game-winning run. He rebounded a missed 3-point attempt from Trevor Gaskins and laid it in to spark the spree.
The Bulldogs had to pick up their shooting woes from the first half to turn things around in the second after trailing 21-17 at the break.
Louisiana Tech chipped away at the deficit slowly, and an 18-9 run over a 6 1/2-minute span put the Bulldogs up 51-50 to set up the final-minute run for the win.
Quincy Ford and Reggie Spencer scored 10 points each to lead the Huskies (3-6).
