Louisiana State beats Texas-San Antonio 76-66

RUSTON, La. (AP) Erik McCree scored 16 points and led five players in double figures as Louisiana Tech beat the University of Texas-San Antonio 76-66 on Saturday night.

Alex Hamilton added 15 points for the Bulldogs (23-7, 14-3 Conference USA). Raheem Appleby and Kenneth Smith had 12 points apiece and Michale Kyser had 10.

Louisiana Tech pulled away 27-16 on a 3-pointer by Appleby late in the first half and led 34-25 at halftime.

UTSA's Ryan Bowie sank a layup to tie it 56-56 with 8:04 to play but the Bulldogs took off again on a 10-2 run capped by a pair of Kyser dunks to lead 66-58 with 5:52 remaining. Appleby and McCree combined for 6 of 6 from the line in the final 27 seconds to seal the win.

Keon Lewis led the scoring for the Roadrunners (13-14, 7-9) with 26 points. Jeromie Hill added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
