Louisiana-Monroe beats Arkansas-Little Rock 65-49

MONROE, La. (AP) Tylor Ongwae scored 25 points to lead Louisiana-Monroe over Arkansas-Little Rock 65-49 on Saturday.

The Warhawks (8-12, 5-7 Sun Belt) got 12 points apiece from Jayon James and R.J. McCray, with James adding 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 blocks and 3 steals.

Ben Dillard led UALR (12-14, 7-7) with 14 points and James White added 11 points, 12 rebounds.

Neither team was sharp in the first half, as Louisiana-Monroe led 24-13 at the break. Arkansas-Little Rock made just 6 of 26 shots in the first half, went 1 of 4 from the line and 0 of 3 on 3-pointers. ULM was not much better, going 9 of 27 and a woeful 1 of 11 from long distance.

Both teams were much better in the second half, but ULM dominated in the paint (30-14) and on the fast break (8-2) to win going away.
