Randall Daigle hit two free throws with 6.3 seconds left as Louisiana-Lafayette edged Florida International 72-68 on Thursday night.

Phil Gary was called for traveling on the ensuing possession as he drove down the right side of the court for a layup, a call which upset Panthers coach Isiah Thomas.

After FIU fouled La'Ryan Gary with 1 second left, he sank two free throws.

The Ragin' Cajuns (9-14, 6-5 Sun Belt Conference), who won their sixth straight game, are on their longest winning streak since the 2005-06 season.

The game was an up-and-down contest with three lead changes and seven ties.

Travis Bureau led Louisiana-Lafayette with 18 points and six rebounds. Josh Brown added 13 points, La'Ryan Gary had 12 and J.J. Thomas finished with 10 points.

DeJuan Wright had 23 points and 11 rebounds for FIU (9-15, 4-8) and Dominique Ferguson had 16 points.
